Christian Fox, SSC
Strength Coach/ Team Mentor
Upon entering the US Army Christian learned quickly that being vertically challenged and a wind blowing 110lbs would not make his job any easier. Realizing he would need to level the playing field he partook in any form of strength training (exercise) he could find. In 2016 his father told him a little about the Starting Strength method and he was sold wishing he had found it long before. Christian has worked under Jeremy Fisher SSC ,and most recently in NYC with SSC’s Nick Law Yue and Victoria Diaz. In that time he has worked with a countless variety of clients using the Starting Strength method to help them get out of pain and become more active. Under the mentorship and guidance of the Starting Strength DFW team Fox earned his own Starting Strength Coach credential in 2022. Christian believes strength is essential and attainable for all.
Inspired by the Starting Strength Model, and disenfranchised by other approaches to strength training, Jacob Thias began training at the Dallas location in June of 2020. His previous athletic experience includes cross country running, soccer, and collegiate rugby, the physicality of which motivated him to pursue barbell training. After spending half a year as a client at Starting Strength Dallas, Jacob began his coaching internship and education to become a Starting Strength Coach. He competed in the WFAC Strengthlifting Classic and attended the 2021 annual Coach’s Conference. He recently participated in the Starting Strength Seminar, the Olympic Lifting Workshop, and completed the Coaching Preparatory Course. Jacob enjoys helping his athletes realize their potential by using strength training so that they may live healthier and better lives.
